Meet Kenneth VanWright: Multi-Talented Filmmaker and Award-Winning Writer

Kenneth Vanwright is a multi-talented filmmaker, with a distinguished career spanning many years. His journey includes working on big-budget productions such as The Bone Collector, The Taking of Pelham 123, Spiderman Movie, The Thomas Crown Affair, Godzilla, I Am Legend, and Law and Order, among many others. He has worked behind the scenes, gaining a wealth of experience that informs his creative work.

Despite his success in the film industry, Kenneth’s true passion lies in writing and creating. A tragedy that occurred in his daughter’s school inspired him to create an animated series and write scripts for that series dealing with sensitive topics such as Bullying, Suicide, and Peer Pressure. He taught himself the blueprints for successful filmmaking which included not waiting for someone else to fund his passion but through savings purchasing the essential equipment including lights, cameras, and audio capture equipment. Then to put the finishing touch on the product he learned editing, color correction, and color grading.

Kenneth won the International Film Festivals Award on his very first effort at writing a screenplay. He has worked on large and small productions, gaining valuable knowledge from every project. He funded each of his film projects himself because he believed in them.

Kenneth's latest project, Jacquilynn The Ripper, was his first feature-length film and was released in 2023 on multiple streaming networks and platforms. The film has received rave reviews from both critics and fans, cementing Kenneth's status as a rising star in the industry. Keep an eye out for his name under AfterDark FilmWorks.
